🍻What Are The Best Breweries Margaret River?
1. Beerfarm Margaret River
⭐RATING: 4.6/5 – with over 650 positive reviews! | 🌏DISTANCE FROM MARGARET RIVER: 23km |📍LOCATION: 177 Gale Road, Metricup WA | Google Maps
The Beerfarm, it’s all in the name! Quite literally, beer is brewed onsite and served up in a converted barn on an old dairy farm, providing the ultimate setting of rolling pastures to sit back and enjoy a simple fuss-free lager, a complex IPA, or a refreshing cider.
When it comes to food, the team is all about supporting locals, which makes them famous for their Margaret River brewery lunch, and as well as utilizing their own farm produce, they support their neighbouring farms (checkout the nearby Margaret River Farmstays!) and local growers, making their menu not only delicious and tasty but fresh and sustainable. But mostly did we say tasty?!
The Beer Farm Margaret River has a philosophy of All Are Welcome – bring the kids who will love the gigantic slip and slide during summer (what a fun thing to do with kids in Margaret River, especially on a hot day!), as well as the dogs, making it a great family-friendly Margaret River brewery.
⭐Locals Tip: This place is great for kids of all ages, but probably better for older kids, as the playground is a way away from the seating, so you can get stuck down there if you need to supervise smaller kids. There are also heaps of lawn here too for the kids to run around on!
⭐⭐Bonus Locals Tip: Best to double-check the menu, but the kid’s menu includes a “picky plate” (well, that’s what we call it in our house!) with fruit, veggie sticks, cheese and popcorn rather than the usual nuggets, which is a winner in my books!!
2. Margaret River Brewhouse

⭐Locals Tip: This is an excellent kid-friendly Margaret River brewery. My kids love the playground here! You can also snag a table close to the playground so you can watch the kids while you enjoy your beer, the best way to spend an afternoon!
⭐⭐Bonus Locals Tip: The Brewhouse is close to the Wadandi and some of the Best Margaret River Mountain Bike Trails so you can easily ride there. I often send my husband to his friend’s house in Cowaramup and they ride from there – it’s 13km and takes them half an hour to get there, and 45-minutes to get home!
⭐⭐⭐Bonus Bonus Locals Tip: Are you into homebrew? Enter the annual Backyard Brewers Comp hosted by the Brewhouse every year and compete against the best Home Brewers in the region!

Black Brewing Co is not your average brewery, in fact, it’s a restaurant, brewery, and distillery (including being one of the best Margaret River gin distillery!), alongside some of Margaret River’s finest wines, all conveniently bundled up into one glorious setting in a convenient location being a brewery Caves Road. Think high ceilings, large wooden doors, a stone open-fire place, and an alfresco deck overlooking the water.

The Sophisticated Beast is one of the region’s newest, smallest, and most interesting microbreweries. Their Instagram bio says that they “are a small brewery who thinks big… (and they) don’t dabble in the mundane” and this is true!
As well as producing interesting small-batch beers, they also make cold brew coffee and pink oyster mushrooms, which are grown on the used coffee grinds and grains from the brewing process.

Australia Travel Planning Guide
🚑Should I buy Australian travel insurance?
100% YES! — Australia has “free” healthcare but it’s only for citizens and permanent residents. Foreigners visiting need travel insurance in case anything happens on their visit. I like SafetyWing – their Nomad Insurance starts at just $1.50 USD a day!
🚗Should I rent a car in Australia?
Yes — Renting a car is a necessity in most of Australia! If you want to go on road trips or adventures outside of the major cities, and even if you’re staying in a major city, you’ll want to rent a car. If you are visiting Margaret River, it will be even more important that you hire a car, you’ll need it to be able to get around and see all the great attractions and wineries!
🏨What’s the best way to book my Australian accommodation?
My go-to for Australian hotels is Booking.com. Pretty much all registered accommodation use Booking.com (but not necessarily any of the other major booking platforms), and even most of the holiday homes and caravan parks use Booking.com too!
If you’re planning a trip to Australia where you will stay at multiple locations, it’s super handy to have all your accommodation listed in one place, and accommodation owners like Booking.com because it’s easy to contact the guests using the messaging platform if the guest has an international phone number.
I sincerely hope you enjoy your visit to Margaret River!
